Gift Cards

E-gift cards are electronic gift cards that are sent to you by email. They can be used for shopping online at https://www.porlockbayoysters.co.uk/.

E-gift card can be purchased online. If you would like to purchase a e-gift card online please [click here]. 

Currently it is not possible to include a personalised message when you order an e-gift card. It's something we are working on.

E-gift cards are sent to the email address used during checkout. You will receive an email that contains a unique gift card code that can be used at checkout to redeem its value. If you are buying the gift card for someone else, then you will need to forward the gift card email to the recipient (where you can add a personalised message if you would like).

You can use your e-gift card to purchase items in our online store.

E-gift cards are valid for 24 months from the day of purchase. 

Please make sure you check all details when placing your order, since we are unable to issue a refund. 

Yes, provided there is still a balance remaining on the card.

Customers can't check their own e-gift card balance, but if you email us on info@porlockbayoysters.co.uk we will be able to check this for you and provide this information.

Your e-gift card is valuable. Please keep your e-gift card number secure. Your card number is unique and the total value can only be redeemed once. Porlock Bay Oysters will not accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged e-gift cards. If your email has been deleted, please contact us on info@porlockbayoysters.co.uk. 

Please be extra careful when typing in the recipient’s email address as Porlock Bay Oysters will accept no responsibility for errors. 

Packaging and Delivery

 Your oysters will arrive in smart branded boxes designed for transport of shellfish. All products are prepared to order. Our oysters are picked and packed just before the courier comes to collect them. Our boxes are packed with ice packs and our oysters have a 5 day shelf life so it won't be a problem if delivery time stretches to 48 hours.  

No, delivery cannot be guaranteed on the specified delivery day. All our oysters are sent by overnight courier (on a 24 hour service) and should arrive with you on your specified delivery date although in a very small number of cases (due to the increased demand for courier services at the moment) this can stretch to 48 hours. We would recommend, where possible, ordering for delivery the day prior to the date required. For example, if your oysters are for a party on Friday, we would recommend arranging delivery for Thursday and popping them in the fridge until required. 

We currently only deliver to Mainland UK. If you live in the Scotland or on an island, please call us before placing your order by telephone on 07435 652381 or by email to info@porlockbayoysters.co.uk to confirm we can deliver to you.   

Unfortunately at the moment we are not able to offer weekend delivery.  

Yes, the cut off time is 11.45pm the day prior to shipping. For instance, if you wanted your oysters delivered on a Wednesday you would need to place your order before 11.45 pm on Monday. Your order would then be shipped on Tuesday for delivery on Wednesday. 

When your oysters are shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number for your order and a phone number for APC. Please check this on the day of your delivery and phone them if there are any problems. You can also contact us by email on info@porlockbayoysters.co.uk or on 07435 652381.  

Returns

Due to oysters having a limited lifespan we are unable to accept any returned oysters for refund. If you have any issues with your oysters you should email us at info@porlockbayoysters.co.uk or phone us on 07435652381.

For other items (such as aprons and tea towels), unused and undamaged items can be returned to us by post to Porlock Vale House, Porlock Weir, TA24 8PE within 14 days of receipt. A refund or exchange will then be processed as quickly as possible.

Shucking and Storage

We recommend that our oysters are eaten within 5 days of the dispatch date. The dispatch date can be found on the batch card included with your oysters. More information on how to store oysters can be found here .  

Store Pickup

Yes we offer Store Pickup from our Fishery in Porlock Weir.Throughout the year opening times may change, but you can check the current opening hours here . You will be asked to select your preferred Store Pickup date and time when you check out.
